Simply Sunflower Photography Q&A

Where are you located? I live in the beautiful Schoharie County of Upstate New York.

How do you describe your style? I'm drawn to photos focused on natural light- whether it's a dusky, golden hour to a moody, foggy afternoon.  I try to avoid posing too much and focus more on emotions, laughter, and just having fun as those are the genuine moments that are truly timeless

Where will shoot? That depends on the type of session you book and where YOU want to shoot!  This is all about you, you should feel happy and comfortable in your photos.  I am always open to new places, but have a list of suggested places as well so if you don’t have any ideas - I will come up with something awesome!

What should I bring? Wherever we are you will want to bring water and a few snacks.  Plan on packing a bag for your wardrobe changes, shoes (ladies, please bring flip flops or walking shoes) and you accessories - if you are planning on a wardrobe change.

Should I bring props? Absolutely! Please bring things that you love. Those things serve as a reflection of who you are!

What happens if it rains? It happens; I cannot control the weather… yet… so when it happens we will re-schedule your session for another day/time.

When will we receive our images and how many do we get?  You will receive your images no later than 4 weeks following your shoot. Your proofs will be uploaded to a private viewing gallery from there you will select your favorite images as outlined in your session details.  For weddings you will receive your images no later than 6 weeks following your event. Depending on how long I shoot for, you'll receive between 400 - 800 images.

How much retouching do you do on your images? All images get basic color correction, exposure, white balance, etc. Oh, light skin retouching, too! I want you to look your best in your photos so any necessary light retouching is done free of charge. For heavier editing (body sculpting, background removal, removal of braces, hair ties, bra straps, etc) it's an additional minimum of $15 per image.

Can we print photo ourselves? I do recommend ordering your prints from your gallery. However you are welcome to use whatever service you'd like! I do have a small list of my favorite labs to order from if you are interested, please ask.  You receive the rights to print your photos for personal use*.
*This means you can't profit from your photos without my permission first, this is outlined in the print release that you will receive with your images.

Can I share these on social media? Absolutely, you will be provided with watermarked images that can be shared on social media. These images may not be cropped or edited in anyway.

Do you charge travel fees? Yes, I offer the first 20 miles free of charge, anything that requires driving over 20 miles from 12043 will have an extra charge of $30.

What kind of equipment do you have? Do you have a back-up camera?  I shoot Nikon.  I have two nikon full frame cameras. I know camera models can be a big deal to some but I'd encourage you to read this article which explains some key differences between the two and why it ultimately boils down to personal preference!

We like what we see! Now what? Awesome! Get in touch! We can chat through email, facebook, facetime or even meet up for coffee (or a beer...or cinnamon bun...or soup...or really, whatever!). Your photos are a collaboration so let's get this project started!
